Skin Retouching Photoshop Tutorial
http://www.facebook.com/sarakieslingphotography
Basic skin retouching using frequency separation and dodging & burning. I use this process on every photo that I do, and I usually spend about 4-5 minutes on headshots like this (and less time on full body shots when there is obviously less detail in the face). This is not intended to be a high-end retouching tutorial – but techniques that can help people who want to do natural-looking retouching while maintaining most of the natural skin texture!
Here is the final photo – http://www.flickr.com/photos/xosara/6122295521/
The final editing was done with one of my Photoshop actions, available at http://www.sarakiesling.com/actions 🙂

Very nice tutorial! Thank you!
This was so helpful! I’ve watched so many times. Finally just made a note sheet with your steps so I can follow that. Thanks!
amazing instructions
pretty sweet!
Great video. Now my problem is with the clone tool. It doesn’t do it like yours automatically. A pop appears and say: Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option-click to define a source point).
I really enjoyed your channel!! Travel to my videos if you want! 🙂
Would you tell me which Photoshop you have?
Thanks

This might seem random, but there is a phone app on Google Play that uses this awesome final photo as the photo for their app. The app is called “Change Hair.” I don’t know if you want to make some money off of the photo they stole from you, or maybe you don’t mind. Either way, I couldn’t help but recognize such a well done photo 🙂
This is one of my favorite YouTube videos and I’ve been using these techniques and been referring to this video for years. Thank you so much.
I only recently realised you could edit and retouch on different layers, boy does it make life easier xD
WTF is wrong with you people… going on and on about this person’s voice. Y’all are creeps.
Thank you for great tutorial!
When I create the “texture” Layer and “apply image” it just gives me completely grey image, but I am not sure why? I made sure the settings were the same.
Thanks for the Clear, well voiced tutorial!
Great to actually hear someone talking their way through their workflow, rather than poorly chosen music, and watching someone do their thing with no audio.
I will be trying these steps, and hopefully achieve what i need to.
Once again A BIG thanks, and greetings from Australia!!
Beautiful face even without retouching in PS. And those eyes, so warmth in them.
In love with your voice. People around you must feel so dreamy when you talk.
